Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mikhailovic talked today with the Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev on the cooperation of two countries on the implementation of infrastructure projects.

In his interview with Mustafayev, co-chair of the Intergovernmental Comission for Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia, Prime Minister Vucic pointed out that Azerbaijan and Azvirt have proved themselves to be a reliable partner in the construction of the Lig-Prelina highway, which is why Serbia is grateful.

We are open to cooperation with Azerbaijan on new projects in Serbia and the region. This project will be an important reference because "Azvirt" has made difficult part - Lig-Prelina, very good, despite problems with domestic subcontractors, Vucic said.

Mikhailovic expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani Minister for the good cooperation during the construction of the 40 km highway on Corridor 11, stressing that the succesfull realization of this project guarantees that all future projects that Serbia will work with partners from Azerbaijan will be done equally efficiently and with high quality.

During the talks, it was emphasized that good political relations were  a prerequisite for succesful cooperation in the field of economy, with the belief that cooperation with Azvirt will continue, given that Serbia expects the realization of new major infrastructure projects in the coming period.

According to a statement of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Mustafayev will lead the delegation from Azerbaijan at the ceremony on the occasion of the opening of this highway.
