Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic met in Baku with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The interlocutors noted on that occasion that the relations between the two countries are at the level of strategic partnership, and need further promote cooperation in the economic plan so that she followed the excellent results in the political field.
The first steps in this direction, as indicated, there could be the establishment of airline Belgrade-Baku, as well as the continuation of visa liberalization.
The interlocutors assessed that it would significantly contribute to establishing closer and more regular contacts among business people and companies of Serbia and Azerbaijan.
During the meeting was discussed the projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure, agriculture and telecommunications, in which, as it is estimated there is enough opportunities for further improvement of cooperation and new Azerbaijan investments.
President Aliyev in this regard said that some Azerbaijani companies interested in the privatization of Serbian companies from the food industry, noting that major infrastructure projects in Serbia can be funded from a very favorable loan the Oil Fund of Azerbaijan.
Vice President of the Government Rasim Ljajic during the day, together with the Minister of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, chaired the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. At the meeting participated four state secretaries, representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Agency for Privatization, and from the Azerbaijani side nine deputy ministers.
At the same time there was a meeting of businessmen from the Republic of Serbia, with eight public and private company representatives from over thirty Companies of Azerbaijan Republic.
In addition, he also met with Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov and Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garajev.
